Domain Roundtable moves offshore to the Bahamas

Domain Roundtable is taking another crack at hosting a domain meeting and auction tentatively scheduled for March 1 – 4, 2011 at the famous Atlantis resort in the Bahamas.

They should expect attendance from the major domainers located along the U.S. east coast.  For many of them, it should be 1 to 2 hour flight.  Whereas, the flying time will be much longer for the european and U.S. west coast attendees.

With so many other domain meetings in the same timeframe like Traffic, Domainfest and SedoPro,   Domain Roundtable will need to separate themselves from the crowd.

The last Domain Roundtable took place in June, 2009 in Washington, DC.  It was well planned and publicized but lightly attended.

With the drastic decline in revenue over the past 2 years, it is surprising to see a ‘pay per click’ (ppc) company  like Trafficz (the owner of Domain Roundtable) continue to sponsor another domain meeting.

In the past, the ppc companies like Trafficz, Domain Sponsor, Sedo and Parked were able to afford to bankroll the different conferences to generate goodwill and additional clients.   However, all of that has changed with the decline in ppc revenue.   Now, the domain meetings and conferences  have become an additional profit center for the ppc companies.

As much as the domain industry welcomes the return of the Domain Roundtable, the success of the domain meeting is questionable.  Additional information about the Domain Roundtable will be released over the next few months.

Just before the last Domain Roundtable, Michael Mann hosted a private party at his home for a select few attendees.

Ammar Kubba (Trafficz), Michael Mann (former owner of BuyDomains) and Div Turakhia (Skenzo) discussing business while relaxing around Michael’s pool.
